El Young Business Talents Report 2017, conducted through more than 10,000 interviews with pre-university students between 15 and 21 years old, presents the entrepreneurial mindset figures of Spanish and European young people. In this sense, if we compare the attitude and tendency towards entrepreneurship of young Spanish people compared to European ones, we find that Spaniards have the least intention of entrepreneurship with 37.53%, compared to Italy with 43.15%, Portugal with 51.31% and Greece with 51.32%. Unlike most Europeans, In Spain, there is a greater willingness to work as civil servants, accumulating 26.79%, or in the private business sector, with 35.68%. In this sense, the question of “finding a job for life” remains a matter of vital importance and appreciation on the part of the Spanish population.
Entrepreneurial gene by autonomous community
Leading the ranking of the most entrepreneurial Spanish autonomous communities is Catalonia, a region that accumulates 46.16%. Closely, we find Aragón with 43.48%, the Canary Islands with 44.02%, Galicia with 33.53%, Navarra with 33.03% and Castilla-La Mancha with 27.88%. On the other hand, The community of La Rioja has the largest percentage of attraction to the private sector with 51.72%, followed by Cantabria with 46.40% and Madrid with 42.56%. Finally, if we look at the highest percentages interested in the employment in the public sector, Castilla-La Mancha leads with 35.59%, nearby we find Galicia with 31.68% and Andalusia with 31.56%.
Favorite Spanish cities to work in
The Young Business Talents Report also reflects the most attractive cities for Spaniards when it comes to working. In this regard, from highest to lowest degree, the interest in working in Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Valencia, Malaga, Granada and Cádiz stands out. On the part of young Spaniards, there is also a great willingness to change place of residence for work reasons, 89.07% would.
