For SMEs in member countries of the European Union, the Eurostars program offers funding for R&D projects carried out in a consortium and lasting between 1 and 3 years.
The Eurostars program is offered by the Eureka network, an international organization dedicated to promoting market-focused innovation. It is currently a partnership between European states but it also integrates countries such as Israel, South Korea or Canada, in order to provide funding for the development of R&D projects with a high commercial impact.
This is a support program for R&D intensive SMEs that develop transnational projects that are very market-oriented. Eurostars is aimed at generating R&D projects in consortium that are led by SMEs, encouraging the creation of more economic activities that are based on the results of this R&D and that introduce them to products, processes and services in the market quickly and effectively.
Eurostars wants companies that benefit from its funding to be disjunctive and to be able to take an important qualitative leap that will allow them to drastically improve their market position.
