Following the cancellation of the Mobile World Congress and the Four Years From Now (4YFN), a spontaneous and collaborative proposal has emerged from the Barcelona entrepreneurial ecosystem. The event is led by Barcelona Tech City, together with other key players, such as the Barcelona City Council, the Government of Catalonia and MWCapital, among others.
“As soon as we heard about the cancellation, entrepreneurs began to ask for a meeting point. It was from the bottom up, a movement that seeks to maintain the spirit of the entrepreneurial ecosystem,” explains Miguel Vicente, president of Barcelona Tech City.
The institutions met urgently when they saw that large companies were canceling their attendance at the MWC. The GSMA, the association of operators that organizes the event, decided to cancel the most important fair in the technology sector. Consequently, institutions, companies and entrepreneurs set out very quickly to create an initiative that brings together activities for the scheduled days of the event, February 24, 25 and 26.In addition, international investors from the European Business Angels Network maintain their support to Barcelona and confirm that they will attend the Barcelona Tech Spirit event despite the cancellation of the MWC.
“This initiative has emerged spontaneously, from the base of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and has had a magnificent and immediate response from all the agents involved and demonstrates the strength, activism, solidity and solidarity of Barcelona's technological ecosystem.” comments Miguel Vicente.
From Intelectium we consider it a great initiative on the part of the entire entrepreneurial ecosystem and a great opportunity to have access to new clients and investors. For this reason, we make all our help available to you, we are sure that it will be an event with a great positive impact.
