Intelectium success story: WAIIS obtains a CDTI PID loan of more than 180,000€

Founded in March 2022 and with a clear focus on providing innovative solutions in the field of urban mobility, WAIIS addresses the challenges of mobility in urban environments through a comprehensive service.

WAIIS offers users a variety of transportation options, from cars with drivers to motorcycle, scooter and bicycle rentals, to ridesharing and public transport integration.

Through its platform, the company offers a solution to improve travel efficiency, promote sustainable mobility and reduce traffic congestion in cities.

WAIIS is a company founded in 2022 in Barcelona, whose objective is to be the leading solution for sustainable urban mobility of the future. His proposal is embodied in a mobile application that offers a comprehensive approach to addressing the transportation needs of citizens.

Currently, the company bases its value proposition on two main branches:

  • Access to a variety of modes of transport: WAIIS provides citizens with access to a wide range of mobility options, including shared vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles and electric scooters. This diversity of means of transport allows users to choose the option that best suits their needs and preferences at any time. With growing concern for the environment, users are looking for sustainable transport options. Aware of this, the WAIIS team offers 100% electric vehicles that align with the ecological priorities of users.
  • Comparison and efficient booking: The WAIIS platform allows users to compare rates, waiting times and availability of means of transport in real time. In addition, users have the ability to make direct reservations through the application, thus simplifying the process of planning their trips and improving their mobility experience.

Currently, the WAIIS team is working on the development of a solution aimed at the MaaS (Mobility as a service) sector. It is a type of service that, through a single digital channel, allows users to plan, book and pay for multiple types of mobility services.

The technological need that drives this project stems from the deficiencies and limitations of current systems in the field of urban mobility, among which problems such as lack of integration, traffic congestion, scarce collaboration between different transport operators and the environmental impact of urban mobility stand out.

The new solution, proposed during the application for the partially repayable loan from CDTI through the PID line, has as its central objective the creation of an innovative system for analyzing and processing user urban mobility data. Using artificial intelligence and deep learning algorithms, this platform will collect and process detailed information about mobility patterns, including locations, transportation preferences, schedules and travel behaviors.

The main feature of this solution will lie in its ability to anticipate the future mobility needs of users. For example, it will be able to predict when one user will require a trip to get to work or if another will prefer a bicycle instead of a car. Beyond predictions, the platform will efficiently promote and coordinate shared transportation services by connecting users with similar mobility needs.

The ultimate purpose is to reduce vehicle congestion in urban environments, promote sustainable modes of transport and increase efficiency in urban mobility.

With a focus on sustainability, comfort and user experience, Waiis is ready to lead the transformation in urban mobility and resolve the limitations of current solutions.

How has Intelectium helped them?

Intelectium has collaborated with the WAIIS team in applying for and submitting a CDTI PID loan worth more than 180,000€. Through the PID project granted by CDTI, WAIIS will work on the creation of an innovative system for the analysis and processing of user urban mobility data.

More information about the lines of public funding that the company has requested:

CDTI PID Program

The Program provides funding for Research and Development Projects aimed at “significantly improving processes, products or services”.

  • To be beneficiaries of the aid, companies, regardless of their sector of activity, can carry out both industrial research and experimental development activities.
  • The minimum budget that can be financed by the CDTI PID Program is 175,000€ (the maximum aid intensity is 85% of the project, so the company must contribute at least 15% of it through its own resources) and the projects to be developed must last between 12 and 36 months.
