Funding for R+D+i in cooperation: CDTI-EraNet

ERAnet actions are transnational networks of public R&D funding bodies. These are actions supported by the European Union.

These actions are intended to promote cooperation, the organization of research activities and policies developed in Member States and Associate States through their corresponding research projects (national and regional). They also focus on the development and implementation of joint and mutual openness activities.

EraNet provides opportunities for the internationalization of research, development and innovation with a higher success rate. Spanish companies can collaborate in transnational projects encouraged by public grants. The ERAnet scheme emerges as a new tool of the sixth Framework program for research, technological development and demonstration of the European Union. The scheme has been evolving to the new tool COFOUND.

ERAnet is executed through two actions:

EraNet

It provides a framework for agents carrying out public research programs to coordinate their activities through the development of joint activities or the mutual support of transnational proposals.

EraNet Plus

The calls cover a national phase and an international phase, each with its own requirements and application procedures, and it is essential to meet all of them in order to obtain public aid.

As we have just mentioned, the ERA-NET calls comprise an international phase and a national phase, each with its respective eligibility requirements and application procedures, and it is essential to comply with all of them in order to obtain public aid. Only projects approved in the international phase of the calls may be candidates for funding from the CDTI-E.P.E.

The topics addressed by Eranets projects are classified into subjects such as: concentrated solar energy, blue bioeconomy, intelligent energy systems, personalized medicine, sustainable crops, sustainable water management, geothermal energy, ocean energy, raw materials, maritime technologies, sustainable food production, electromobility, biotechnology, offshore wind energy, sustainable water management, intelligent power grids and sustainable water management.
