The Department of Business and Knowledge of the Government of Catalonia, through the Agency for Business Competitiveness (ACCIÓ), has approved the bases for granting aid to high-impact business investments.
Companies may be eligible to be beneficiaries of Aids through two different lines of funding, determined according to the characteristics of the project being carried out:
Line 1
High-impact business investment projects for job creation. In this line, the following actions are included:
-Employment creation projects in ICT service centres-Employment creation projects in supraregional decision centres-Employment creation projects in industrial projects-Employment creation projects in logistics centers-Employment creation projects in R & D + I centers
Line 2
High-impact business investment projects in fixed assets. In this line, the following actions are included:
-Investment projects in fixed assets that incorporate a new activity for the company in Catalonia or an expansion of productive capacity-Investment projects in fixed assets of companies that have acquired Production Units from companies in bankruptcy - Investment projects in fixed assets in R & D + I centers
Type of aid
Direct aid from up to 200,000€ (corresponding to 30% of the project) for line 1. Companies benefiting from line 2 will be eligible for direct aid with a maximum of between 200,000 and 500,000€ and the following intensities:
-Intensity of 8% with a maximum of 200,000€ for investment projects involving the development of new activities or the expansion of productive capacity. -Intensity of 20% with a maximum of 200,000€ for investment projects linked to the acquisition of Productive Units of other companies in bankruptcy. -Intensity of 10% with a maximum of 200,000€ for investment projects in R+D+I centers. -Intensity of 10% with a maximum of €500,000 for strategic projects.
Beneficiaries
Companies with operational headquarters in Catalonia or in the process of being established in the territory. Those companies whose activities include: -Retail trade-Activities in the real estate sector-preservation of meat and the processing of meat product-Primary production of agricultural products are excluded from this call.
Financiable expenses
For employment creation projects (line 1), the labor cost for the first 6 months of the new members of the team that have been hired, meaning labor cost the gross salary and the cost of Social Security borne by the company. For investment projects (line 2), the tangible and intangible productive fixed assets, as well as installations linked to the production process.
Main requirements
The projects of the beneficiary companies must meet minimum requirements of investment and job creation depending on the type of activity to be subsidized. The minimum amounts are set at:For line 1 employment creation projects:
-In ICT service centers: 25 new jobs-In supraregional decision-making centers: 15 new jobs-In industrial projects: 15 new jobs-In logistics centers: 15 new jobs-In R+D+I centers: 8 new jobs
For line 2 fixed asset investment projects:
-That involve new activities or the expansion of productive capacity: investment of 2,000,000 €-Linked to the acquisition of productive units of bankrupt companies: investment of 200,000 €-In R & D + I centers: investment of 500,000 €-Of strategic projects: investment of 5,000,000€ and the creation of 30 new jobs
