Startup of the week: Ontruck

OnTruck is a Spanish startup that connects companies that need to allocate goods with professional carriers.

The company is dedicated to the transport of goods over short distances, since they believe that in this case technology can intervene more, bringing more value to companies and carriers.

OnTruck's customers include large multinational companies such as Decathlon and Procter & Gamble, among others.

Iñigo Juantegui, CEO and co-founder of Ontruck explains “It is in this mode of transport that efficiency is most affected”. It ensures that carriers drive with an empty or semi-empty vehicle for 40% of trips.

Ontruck was selected by South Summit 2018 as one of the 100 best startups of the world. It has also been chosen from more than 3,000 projects from 84 countries by a jury of 120 technicians who have taken into account innovation, economic possibility and interest for potential investors.

Iñigo Juantegui comments “The confidence to move in the right direction and thus be able to face the modernization of the logistics sector not only in Spain, but also in the international market”.

Ontruck acquires BriverOntruck acquires Briver, a company that belongs to Wtransnet, with the objective of optimizing transport and reducing the number of empty kilometers carried out by carriers. This action strengthens the Ontruck brand in Catalonia and becomes the leading transport company in Catalonia.

Iñigo Juantegui, CEO and co-founder of Ontruck, explained that “Catalonia is a priority market at European level, representing around 10% of road transport in Spain”. He also comments that they are “very excited to be able to work together with Briver to offer the best service in the region, sharing excellence and the same vision of bringing technology and transparency to the industry”.
