In today's article, we will learn all the bases for grants for experimental development and process innovation projects through technologies associated with the Metaverse and Web 3.

The call aims to narrow the gender gap in the field of emerging technologies related to Metaverse and Web 3, specifically in employment and leadership. In this sense, projects that do not contemplate the active participation of women in the work team assigned to the project through a contractual employment relationship or the provision of exclusive services of less than 25% over the entire period of execution of the project may not be eligible for aid.

It is also intended to improve business competitiveness, job creation, promote the participation and digitalization of SMEs and territorial cohesion or, by improving related innovation, among others, through:

1- Promotion of projects, promoted or with a significant presence of women that implement technologies associated with the Metaverse and Web 3, such as virtual worlds and immersive environments.

2- The integration of new technologies in audiovisual and content production through the incorporation of new uses of immersive creation tools, the use of artificial intelligence and blockchain for the improvement and modernization of production processes.

What is the type of projects that will be financed and the type of aid?

The grants will be in the form of a grant, on a competitive basis, to finance the projects presented. Each applicant may submit projects of the following types of actions:

• Actions for the functional development of your product or technological solution, aimed at functional improvement, safety, stability and maturity of the technological solution. Under no circumstances will the mere provision of services be accepted.
• Development actions aimed at the validation, certification and start-up of prototypes in environments representative of real production conditions.

In both lines of action, the projects will have (at least) one of the following purposes:

• Prototyping or innovative processes for new audiovisual production tools and digital content
• Innovative prototypes or processes that make use of technologies associated with the Metaverse and Web 3 for social transformation and the integration of disadvantaged groups, especially with regard to the gender gap
• Creation of new virtual workspaces and collaboration.
• Innovative prototypes or processes that implement technologies associated with the Metaverse in cultural, health or educational environments

Who can benefit from Metaverse and Web 3 Grants?

Professionals enrolled in the Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers, small and medium-sized enterprises and micro-enterprises that are of Spanish nationality or of any member State of the European Union or of the States signatory to the Agreement on the European Economic Area and have tax residence in Spain may benefit from metaverse and Web 3 grants.

Beneficiaries must prove their economic and financial solvency, as well as their technical or professional solvency.

What is the minimum and maximum budget?

The minimum project budget will be €150,000 and the maximum of €1,000,000.

What is the deadline for applying for the call?

The deadline for submitting applications will be from August 4 to August 31.
