The PizzaClik team will use the funds raised through ENISA to scale their business model.
The PizzaClik project was born in Valencia by the hand of its two founders, Alessio Lo Piano and Giovanni Falzone, Italians by birth, but living in Valencia, who decided, based on a shared vision, to take advantage of their experience in the fields of Marketing for Food & Beverage and the automation of cooking processes to launch a groundbreaking proposal with which to revolutionize the pizza market.
Alessio and Giovanni's vision was clear: become the first pizza e-commerce. Although, as they themselves explain on their website, PizzaClik is more than just another food option: “Pizza is the tool for communicating our way of being free, our way of being different and of loving life in all its shapes and colors, especially pink.” The birth of the company came just at the right time, with thousands of people, used to eating out, locked up in their homes for weeks, many of them opted for food delivery.
In Spain, 45% of Spaniards ordered food at home once or twice during the months of strictest confinement. This trend has continued in the following months, with 19% of Spaniards stating that, even if they were able to go out to lunch or dinner, they have continued to order food delivery through apps for no specific reason.
While it's true that momentum helped, the company's success is the result of be able to resolve the true pain of its consumer: the customer only needs to invest one minute of their time in placing a complete order, using a modern, attractive and intuitive website, to receive their order a few minutes later.
Focused on achieving efficiency in their order distribution process (the startup has 3 stores or dark kitchens from where they ship to 21 postal codes in Valencia), the PizzaClik team has demonstrated that there is a capacity for innovation even in the simplest processes: It bakes pizzas in just 5 minutes and delivers them at 82 degrees (thanks to Firebox capable of maintaining the temperature during shipping), thus reproducing the experience that the user would have if they placed their order in a restaurant. PizzaClik combines a simple and intuitive website, which stands out in a poorly digitized sector with poor online shopping experiences, with quality products that arrive in optimal conditions to each of the users. The company, which has already closed a round of financing for more than 100,000€ and is looking for a second one worth between 200,000 and 300,000€, will use the funds raised with the ENISA loan to meet its growth objectives. Thus, the main items in which PizzaClik plans to invest these funds are: opening of new dark kitchens, hiring the necessary personnel and technological development to optimize the user experience.
