Spain will allocate 14 million euros to agricultural innovation

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, has explained the new call that will be published this year, for an amount of 14 million euros.

Spain is one of the countries with the largest budget allocated to promoting innovation in the field of the CAP, the Common Agricultural Policy. According to Olimerca, Spain allocates more than 120 million euros to support innovation in the agricultural sector. Lluis Planas, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food explained during his appearance in Aranjuez, at the Inauguration of the seminar Development of Digital Skills in Agriculture, the new call that will be published this year, for an amount of 14 million euros. The Minister pointed out that society is changing, and at the same time also the ways of producing, and it is for this reason that the innovation will be a fundamental factor. At the same time, he commented that we are at a good time to evolve in the technological sector, to implement a more sustainable model of agriculture and to improve rural life. The use of fewer resources and allowing for more and better production will be essential for Spain and its agriculture. The Spanish Strategy for the Digitalization of the Agrifood and Forestry Sector and the Rural Environment sets out objectives such as: encouraging the use of data and encouraging business development, reducing the digital divide and promoting new business models.What did you think of this article?
