CDTI launches Innvierte, a new initiative to capitalize technology companies together with specialized private investors

CDTI, or Center for Industrial Technological Development, is the body of the General State Administration that advises, finances and internationalizes business R&D and innovation projects of Spanish companies and entities and manages Spanish participation in international R+D+I organizations, such as Horizon 2020 and Eureka. Under its strategy of support for technology-based companies, CDTI has programs such as Invest, a new co-investment initiative with private investors specialized in innovative companies. With this program, the CDTI hopes to continue to encourage investment in this profile of companies with a high technological level. CDTI, through Innvierte, will delegate the management of participating companies to investors, who, in addition to providing capital, will provide their experience in strategy, positioning and management of technology companies.Investing ProcedureThis initiative will consist of two parts, in the initial phase, those professional private investors specialized in technology who have requested it will be approved, and it will end with the signing of a co-investment agreement for them in the Innvierte program. In the second phase, joint investment can be undertaken in technology-based companies that conform to Innvierte's investment strategy, presented by co-investors approved in accordance with the signed co-investment agreement. The requirements that professional private investors must meet. interested parties, as well as the characteristics of co-investment are indicated in the published approval procedure. Investors can submit their approval request via email homologation@ innvierte@cdti.es at any time from the date of publication of the procedure. The first closing of applications will take place on July 31 of this year 2019. Another evaluation of proposals will be carried out throughout the year and is expected to take place in the month of November. If so, it will be announced in advance. Among the services offered by CDTI, the funding NEOTEC, a program that aims to support the creation and consolidation of technology-based companies and the line of funding for Research and Development Projects (PID), which provides funding to R&D projects developed by companies and aimed at the creation and significant improvement of production processes, products or services.
