The new edition of the IOTSWC returns to Barcelona under the slogan Innovative Technologies for Industry Transformation, with the main objective of strengthening a unique innovation platform that brings together the industry's leading solution providers.
On the first day of the event, which will take place from January 31 to February 2 at Fira de Barcelona's Gran Via venue, there will be a plenary session followed by a round table with the participation of Sean O'Reagain, Deputy Director of Industry 5.0 in the European Commission, who will explain how Industry 5.0 provides a vision of the industry that goes beyond efficiency and productivity as its sole objectives and reinforces its role and contribution to society.
These days will address key issues such as resilience, offshoring, contracting and the use of renewable energy, essential for the development of an industry 5.0 that places worker well-being at the center of the production process and uses new technologies to provide prosperity beyond employment and growth, while respecting the planet's production limits.
On the same day, Katherine Bennett, executive director of The High Value Manufacturing Catapult, a strategic research and innovation center for UK industry, will explain the state of development of the Internet of Things (IOT) in the UK manufacturing sector.
