Enisa news: The public entity multiplies its budget for grants

Enisa will have a new investment fund of 303 million euros with Fepyme and will manage 2,930 million euros from European aid.

Enisa will promote innovation and entrepreneurship with an investment of 2,930 million euros in key Perte sectors and a new fund of 303 million euros that will allow it to avoid the seasonality of its grants and to be able to continue operating at full capacity throughout the year.

Enisa will manage 2,930 million European grants corresponding to Perte

In a joint effort with Idae, Enisa will assume responsibility for managing 2,930 million euros in European funds. This strategic collaboration covers crucial areas such as decarbonization, electric vehicles and the agri-food sector, thus promoting innovation and sustainable development in the country.

Of these funds, 1,480 million correspond to the Perte for decarbonization, 1.3 billion to the Perte for electric vehicles and 200 million to the Perte agri-food sector.

Fepyme: Enisa will also manage a new 303 million investment fund

In addition to the Perte funds, Enisa will be responsible for Fepyme, a new investment fund valued at 303 million euros. This initiative ensures a constant source of funding for companies, eliminating the seasonality of loans (until now they were dependent on the approval of general State budgets) and providing financial stability to entrepreneurs and SMEs.

Until now, the ideal months for applying for Enisa had been January to June, maximum July, with the entry into force of this new fund, requests can be made every month of the year without fear of running out of funds or delaying the approval of general State budgets. This will greatly benefit all those innovative startups and SMEs that need more working capital to grow.

Promoting 'Startups' and Entrepreneurs through the new Startups Act

Since the approval of the 'startups' law last December, Spain has experienced a significant increase in the arrival of international entrepreneurs, reflected in the 1,040 visa applications managed since March.

Another of Enisa's most recent news is the expedition of the Emerging Company Certification, which allows access to the benefits of the new startup law. Since it came into force in July 2023, 268 'startups' have been certified by the entity. However, Enisa highlights the need for greater interest and participation on the part of companies to obtain certification. In Spain, it is not that common to become certified, but thanks to this, newly created companies will be able to enjoy all the tax advantages.

Below we briefly summarize all the advantages of Certification:

  • Reduction of the corporate tax rate to 15%.
  • Deferrals of tax debts.
  • Exemption from making fractional corporate tax payments.
  • Elimination of certain registration fees for the establishment of a new company.
  • Exemption from the obligation to obtain the NIE in the case of non-resident foreign investors.
  • Bonus, for three years, of Social Security contributions for self-employed entrepreneurs who are also employed.
  • Extension of the amount of the exemption, up to 50,000 euros per year, in the case of delivery of stock options to employees.
  • Increase in the deduction for investment in start-up companies, increasing the rate to 50% and the maximum base to 100,000 euros.
  • Promotion in the creation and development of controlled test environments to validate the viability and impact of new models on regulated activities.
  • Facilities for the provision of guarantees or on-account payments in the case of granting grants.

With a total investment of 2,930 million euros in strategic sectors and a new initiative of continuous financial support with Enisa Fepyme's own investment fund, Enisa is playing a fundamental role in the economic and business transformation of Spain and is positioned as one of the main public funding institutions for innovative startups and SMEs.
