Research Program: Grants for hiring young professionals for research and innovation initiatives

The grants, aimed at jobseekers between 16 and 30 years old, are part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

Ministry of Labor and Social Economy.

Objective

Facilitate the employment of young personnel, both in the public and private sectors, to carry out R+D+i projects that contribute to increasing the competitiveness of research and innovation.

Type of aid

Grants aimed at financing labor and wage costs, including contributions for all concepts to Social Security.

Beneficiary companies may also be eligible for grants of €1,000 per year per person hired as travel aid, when the residence of the latter is located in a province or island other than where they are going to do the work for which they are hired.

Beneficiaries

Grants may be beneficiaries of those entities that carry out R+D+i activities, such as public and private companies, public research organizations, universities and universities, health centers and institutions, biomedical or health research institutes, technological centers and centers for supporting technological innovation at the state level, etc.

Main requirements

Beneficiary entities must: -Hire young people between 16 and 30 years old, who are unemployed and correctly registered as jobseekers. -Submit a single application including all the contracts that are the subject of assistance.

In addition,

  • As subsidized support staff, you can hire up to 10% of the total number of jobs offered.
  • Young people may not be hired who, during the period from the 6 months immediately preceding, have held any type of research position in the same company or any of its associates.
  • Innovation and research initiatives and those of the R+D+i departments will preferably be developed in occupations related to health, ecological transition, green economy (renewable energy, water and waste treatment and the agri-food industry), as well as digitalization of services and “data science”.

Eligible profiles

  • Researchers, technologists, technical staff and other professional profiles in R+D+i to carry out research projects.
  • Research support staff.
