Through the call, framed in the future State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation 2021-2023 (PEICTI 2021-23), the State Research Agency will grant 150 M€ in direct grants and 250 M€ in loans to companies.
Objective
Finance experimental development projects in collaboration between companies, universities, business associations, technology centers, R&D centers and research organizations.
The call is aimed at obtaining results close to the interests of the market.
Type of aid
The 2021 call will have a budget of 150 M€ in direct grants for private or public R+D+i organizations and up to 250 M€ in loans to companies (with a simpler application and execution procedure). In turn, the budgets planned for the 2022 call are as follows: 100 M€ in direct grants and 150 M€ in loans. The incorporation of doctors into participating companies may be financed by a grant.

Purpose of the investment
Promote the development of new technologies, the business application of new ideas and techniques and contribute to the creation of new products and services; that respond to the challenges identified in the Spanish Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation 2021-2027.
Main requirements
- Minimum budget of 400,000€.
- Lead by a company. Companies and business associations must exceed 51%, without any single one exceeding 70% of that part of the budget.
- The projects should start in 2022, with a duration of three years. The deadline for the projects submitted for the 2022 call will be two years.
- Address any of the following priority themes: Health; Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society; Civil Security for Society; Digital World, Industry, Space and Defense; Climate, Energy and Mobility; Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources and Environment.
