The background Sabadell Asset Management invests in innovative, newly created and high-growth startups, including in unlisted companies in organized markets. Sabadell previously launched a fund called Sabadell Selección Ventures I, but the novelty of the current fund is the expansion to Europe, Asia and the United States. In turn, the Venture Capital funds in which they invest have gained ground in more than 190 startups distributed in 31 sectors and 19 countries.
The CEO of Sabadell Asset Management comments that “in the current environment of ultra-low interest rates, investors should assume a long-term investment horizon and take positions in real assets such as infrastructure, raw materials or Venture Capital with the highest expected returns”.
BStartup Program In addition, Banco Sabadell has an initiative called BStartup to help young innovative and technological companies. This program has two investment instruments:
-BStartup10: Aimed at startups in the seed phase — early stage, with an investment of up to 100,000 euros. -Sabadell Venture Capital: Aimed at startups in pre-series A and for startups seeking Venture debt in post-series A rounds. The initial investment is 200,000 euros and 1,000,000 euros.
Companies will be able to invest if they meet a series of requirements:
-Spanish companies with origins in Spain and an international vision. -B2B, B2C and B2B2C business models -Companies in the technological and digital sectors -Companies in an initial state, development and growth. - Led by entrepreneurs with experience in the sector, with a high commitment to the project with a vocation to create teams. -Focused on a growing, large and global market. -Innovative and differential value proposition that solves a market need.
