Intelectium success story: Kampaoh achieves €700,000 through an Enisa Crecimiento and a Cofides loan

Kampaoh, a technology startup, offers an easier, more accessible and sustainable camping experience for everyone. Discover their story!

Founded in 2016, Kampaoh allows its customers to enjoy the camping experience without having to invest in the purchase of expensive equipment or worry about storing and maintaining the equipment when they are not using it.

The idea for Kampaoh came from the own experience of Salvador Lora (entrepreneur) on a backpacking trip with his wife, where they realized that there was a niche to be exploited in the camping industry and he thought of attracting hotel and apartment customers who had never considered camping as a vacation destination, offering them a camping experience, easy and beautiful.

Since its founding in 2016, Kampaoh has grown and expanded across Spain, offering accommodation in more than 65 campsites in Spain, and since this year, also in Portugal and France. The company offers fully equipped tents (it currently has seven different models), both for couples and families with children, so that when the customer arrives they will find everything they need to spend a few days in the middle of nature, without having to carry anything other than their luggage. It should be noted that Kampaoh takes care of the entire process, from the manufacture of the stores to their subsequent placement in the spaces and their maintenance, and the subsequent management of reservations, which can be made through the company's proprietary website, by phone and WhatsApp, and by Booking. To this end, the company reaches agreements with the different campsites, who give them the exploitation of the spaces in exchange for a revenue-sharing model. Kampaoh customers can be camping enthusiasts who want to try the experience without having to invest in camping equipment, people who go to music festivals and need temporary accommodation, families who want to spend a summer vacation on the beach or in the mountains, and anyone who wants to enjoy nature and the outdoors without having to worry about the camping equipment.

In addition, Kampaoh also has corporate clients, such as event and festival organizers who need to provide temporary accommodation for their participants, tourism companies that offer outdoor activity packages and accommodation, and any company that needs camping equipment for their own purposes, such as film shoots or advertising.

The company has been recognized and awarded in different acceleration programs and startup competitions, reflecting the potential and innovation of its business model. For example, after winning the 2021 edition of the Alhambra Venture and becoming a finalist that same year at the South Summit, in 2022 the company received the BBVA Sustainable Innovation Award in the Tourism Category. In addition, Kampaoh has successfully closed several rounds of funding, allowing the company to continue expanding and improving its services. In 2019, the company closed a funding round of 350,000 euros led by Lanzadera, who had already led a first round of funding worth 100,000 euros in 2018, allowing the company to open new branches in Madrid and Valencia and launch a new online platform. In 2021, the company re-closed a new capital increase of €4.M, involving funds such as Encomenda, JME Ventures and Axon Parters Group.
