Call for projects for the Territorial Network of Hubs in Artificial Intelligence
The call includes 5 help lines:
Line 1: Projects to promote transfer and innovation in the field of AI. They should be R&D projects (with a TRL 4-8) that contribute to energizing the emerging technologies sector such as data technologies and artificial intelligence. Projects should include the deployment of a pilot test or a proof of concept and should incorporate an intersectional gender perspective into their design. Including:
- Development and innovation based on generative AI
- Intersection of AI and technologies associated with quantum computing
- Developments under the AI4GOOD concept
- Improving water cycle management
- AI and Cybersecurity
- AI and health
- AI in Catalan
- AI and the agri-food sector
- AI for the multimedia and entertainment industry
- AI for the mobility industry
- AI for infrastructure management at the edge of the cloud (edge-cloud continuum)
- AI applied to the aerospace sector
- AI for cognitive robotics
Line 2: Initiatives to promote scientific research, talent management and accelerate the development of AI-based solutions. Including:
- Research projects.
- International networks or platforms for scientific excellence in AI.
- Programs to promote the creation of technology-based startups.
- Programs for generating, retaining and attracting talent in AI.
Line 3: Activities to energize the ecosystem of entities that develop, integrate, implement or offer technological solutions in the field of AI. The proposed actions must be open and free of charge and must fall into one of the following types:
- Digital innovation contests to address territorial challenges through AI solutions.
- Organization of events on AI.
- Organization of activities within the framework of major AI congresses, fairs and forums.
- Organization of business delegations and entities to learn about the main local and international players in the sector.
- Organization of networking days.
- Organization of programs to detect and accompany calls and funding opportunities for AI companies.
Line 4: Training and technical training activities in the application of ethical principles in the use and implementation of AI systems.
Line 5: Proofs of concept about an AI data space demonstration center. Proofs of concept about an AI data space demonstration center. Projects should be primarily related to the sectors of industry, health and mobility.
Call for projects for Intelligent Digital Health
The call includes 2 help lines:
- Line 1: Assistive robotics projects.
- Line 2: Sensorization projects.
Beneficiaries

- Line 1: Public and private companies, research and knowledge dissemination organizations and groups of the above.
- Line 2: Research and knowledge dissemination organizations and groups of the above.
- Line 3: Chambers of commerce, business associations, public law corporations, research and knowledge dissemination bodies and groups of the above.
- Line 4: Chambers of commerce, business associations, public law corporations, research and knowledge dissemination bodies and groups of the above.
- Line 5: Public and private companies and groups of the above.
Call for projects for Intelligent Digital Health
- Line 1 is aimed at business, foundational or research entities.
- Line 2 expands this group to also include social entities and public corporations.
Type of help
Competitive competition grants. In all lines, the maximum aid intensity is 75%. In the case of R&D projects, the aid intensity will be as follows:
- Industrial research projects: 70% for small businesses, 60% for medium-sized companies and 50% for large companies.
- Experimental development projects: 45% for small businesses, 35% for medium businesses and 25% for large companies.
Call for projects for the Territorial Network of Hubs in Artificial Intelligence
- The maximum grant per project will be 200,000€ for individual projects and 500,000€ in the case of group projects for Line 1.
- For Line 2, it will be between 100,000€ and 300,000€ (depending on the type of project).
- For Line 3, it will be between €50,000 and €300,000 (depending on the type of project).
- For Line 4, the aid will amount to €300,000.
- For Line 5, it will be €500,000.
Call for projects for Intelligent Digital Health
- The maximum grant for the beneficiary project will be 1,950 M€.
- For Line 2, it will be between 400,000€.
Execution period
The activities covered by these grants must be carried out between August 3, 2022 and a maximum period of one year from the date of publication of the call, provided that the resolution of the call does not establish a shorter deadline. The payment of the grant is made against justification, that is, only after the subsidized action has been adequately justified.
Documentation required during the application process
- Memory of the activity or action, including the expected start and end data and the place where it was performed. The report must contain a specific section on gender impact, equal treatment and non-discrimination in the field of its action.
- Complete and detailed budget for the project presented, including all expected expenses and revenues, the amount of aid requested and the details of the sources of funding. If the subsidized activity consists of several actions, the budget must be broken down by actions and by expenditure items.
- Applicant entities that have outstanding debts and have negotiated an extension, a deferment, a moratorium or any other special condition with the creditor administration must provide documentation to prove this special prerogative.
