In Intelectium we want to keep up to date with what is happening in the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Spain. For this reason, we will be offering a series of video interviews to leading entrepreneurs. Some of them, in addition to being immersed in the continuous struggle of carrying out a project, have undertaken before and speak from experience. A series of more than interesting testimonies that we open with an interview with Francisco Carrero, CEO of BrainSins, a product recommendation system for e-commerce that in May 2012 closed a funding round of 400,000 and an international expansion plan that involves the opening of a new office in the United Kingdom. Intelectium has participated both in the search for capital and in the expansion plan. Francisco began to undertake in 2000, with a project similar to that of BrainSins. Later, he worked at the European University of Madrid on various research projects, but Francisco and his two partners chose to develop an idea that would have a more direct and more extensive application. So he was born BrainSins.Carrero advises entrepreneurs not to decline any support. He identifies three fundamental ones: friends & family (“Although it seems that the support of family and friends is being given, it is the first barrier that must be overcome in order to undertake”), other entrepreneurs (“We formed a advisory board composed of entrepreneurs who helped us to improve deficiencies that we were aware of“) and support an accelerator company, either as a consultant or to obtain funding. In addition, it identifies two fundamental flaws in entrepreneurs (including himself). “The first one is Not knowing how to listen: We have a very clear idea and we believe that we are going to take it forward with our knowledge, but for this you have to be an experienced entrepreneur”. The second is linked to the need to listen: “Many of us keep our project as if they were going to steal it from us. Hay que Tell us about our idea. Not in its entirety, but the parts needed to seek feedback”.Among the reasons why BrainSins He trusted Intelectium, Francisco points out that he approached our company when he saw the amount of time that needs to be spent seeking funding: “The search for funding is a practically full-time job. You have to have several alternatives: business angels, venture capital, public funding... Intelectium it helped us a lot”.Francisco places the future of BrainSins in internationalization, for what Intelectium designed the expansion plan, and in an expansion of its services: “Until now, we've been working on recommending products for e-commerce. But this is only a small part of the web and of our customer's behavior. We will expand services by customizing our product.”
