Ghop is a Spanish startup that, with its autonomous stores, offers quick shopping, available 24 hours a day and with a varied assortment to cover all the needs of its users.They are stores adapted to each space, indoor or outdoor, highlighting their range of healthy prepared dishes, food and other types of products. These are spaces where you can make a purchase in less than 1 minute through 3 simple steps, which are defined as:
- Enter: The user simply has to register the first time they access one of the ghop stores and verify their username to be able to open the door from their mobile phone.
- Catch: The user chooses which items he wants to purchase.
- Leaving: The user leaves the store, the products are charged directly through the app.
The purpose of ghop is to be able to provide a quick and quality shopping experience, so that anyone has access to healthy food and essential products without wasting time, whether in their work, academic or leisure environment. In addition to allowing them to enter stores and pay, the App developed by the ghop team allows consumers to check the location of stores, check their purchase history, enter their promotions and receive all kinds of notifications.

The founding team of ghop, consisting of Lino Monteagudo, CEO of the company, Víctor M. de Haro, COO, Juan M. de Haro, Chief Engineer Officer and Aitor Álvarez as partner and CTO, is aware of the transformative potential that the technology they are developing has in the food sector. Its solution, included in the Smart Food Retail sector (a concept led in the USA by the e-commerce company Amazon, under the name of “Amazon Go”) is based on a continuous monitoring system, which includes: the monitoring of the products that the user takes thanks to Artificial Intelligence, the verification between what is detected by the weight sensors and what is recorded by the cameras to automatically confirm what each customer achieves with Computer Vision technology, and eventually remote assistance of the consumer experience. All of this, developed internally by GHOP. Since its founding, ghop has obtained numerous awards and recognitions, such as the Neotec program, the Lanzadera accelerator, a grant from Citibank for the Citizen Bootcamp, the Deusto Business School incubator, the best startup founded by university students in ActuaUPM, and the best technological solution for retail by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP).
