The cultural sector in Spain has been one of the groups most affected by the pandemic: during 2020, with a reduction in income of 29%, 60% of companies and cultural organizations were forced to destroy employment.
Andalusia
Artistic Production Awards
Organization: Consistory and the “la Caixa” Foundation.
Type of aid: 14 prizes of €5,000.
Objective: To promote cultural activity in the city.
Main requirements: projects must enrich the city's cultural offer, have a public dimension and promote the participation of local cultural agents.
Beneficiaries: individuals or legal entities, born or resident in Malaga, or with the physical headquarters of the activity they carry out in the territory.
Assessment Criteria:
- Creativity, quality and interest of the project, as well as the uniqueness of the proposal: 0/4.
- Economic viability of the project and consistency of the budget with the proposed activities: 0/3.
- Clarity and precision in the presentation and formulation of the project: 0/3.
Deadline for submitting applications: Until 15/11/2021.
Catalunya
Grants to compensate for losses due to the forced reduction of capacity in scenic and musical spaces due to the health crisis caused by COVID-19
Organization: Department of Culture and Cultural Initiative Support Office (OSIC).
Objective: To compensate for the reduction in revenues corresponding to concerts and paid shows performed in scenic and musical spaces.
Type of aid: Direct grants. The amount to be received will be calculated based on the official capacity of the spaces. In general terms, the amount of the grant for each performance or performance will be between 600 and 10,000€.
Beneficiaries: Individuals or legal entities that organize concerts or shows for a fee and who have maintained their activity despite the imposed capacity restrictions.
Main requirements: To prove that the scheduled concert or paid show was actually performed during the period determined by this call.
Deadline for submitting applications: Until 23/11/2021.
Grants to promote contact between readers and literary authors, translators and illustrators
Organization: Department of Culture and Cultural Initiative Support Office (OSIC).
Objective: To promote contact between readers and authors, translators and literary illustrators of works that have a Catalan or Occitan version.
Type of aid: Grants of 300€ per request, which may be increased to 400 or 500€ if the person's tax address is more than 100 or 200 km from the meeting place of the book club, respectively.
Beneficiaries: Local authorities, foundations or other non-profit cultural entities and companies that carry out bookstore functions.
Main requirements: Have a regular schedule of book clubs in your cultural space, with free public sessions. Each request can only include the session of an author, translator or illustrator.
Deadline for submitting applications: Until 29/10/2021. In Catalonia, the ICEC offers different financing options for cultural companies through the Business Development Area (ADE).
- Refundable contributions: For companies and entities with a minimum of 2 years of experience and domicile in Catalonia, whose corporate purpose is the production, distribution and dissemination of cultural content. The amount of aid (in the form of co-financing) will have a maximum intensity of 75% of the accepted budget (in the case of shows, the intensity can reach 100% of the project). These must be returned based on the financial needs of each of the projects and taking into account the success or failure of the proposal.
- Participatory loans: Aimed at cultural startups with a digital business model. The interest rate of the loans will vary depending on the activity of the beneficiary company.
Madrid
Grants for private companies to carry out music projects
Organization: Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sports.
Type of aid: Grants of between 4,000 and 41,500€. The maximum aid intensity will be 75% of the eligible budget.
Beneficiaries: Microenterprises and small companies with the capacity to operate in the musical field and with tax residence in the Community of Madrid.
Main requirements: Have a seniority of more than two years. The turnover must be less than 1 M€.
Eligible projects:
- Production and premiere of musical shows with live music: Zarzuela and opera.
- Recording, record publishing and broadcasting by audiovisual media or on the Internet.
- Production and exhibition of cycles or festivals.
Deadline for submitting applications: Until 03/11/2021.
La Rioja
Grants for equipping cultural venues
Objective: To promote the acquisition of equipment of an inventorable nature, intended for cultural venues.
Organization: Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth.
Type of aid: Grants with a maximum intensity of 80% of the project subject to the grant. Under no circumstances will the amount of the grant exceed €12,000.
Beneficiaries: Associations, companies and freelancers in the region.
Deadline for submitting applications: Until 28/10/2021.
Nacional
ICO-CRTVE Film Production Line
Organization: Instituto de Crédito Oficial (ICO).
Type of aid: Loans of up to 100% of the purchase price of public communication rights to the audiovisual work.
Beneficiaries: Spanish audiovisual producers.
Eligible projects: Newly produced audiovisual works whose public communication rights have been transferred by the production companies to the Corporación de Radio y Televisión Española, S.A. (CRTVE) .-Deadline for submitting applications: Until 30/12/2021.
Aid for the digitization of intellectual property rights management operators
Objective: To promote the digital transformation of intellectual property rights management entities.
Organization: Ministry of Culture and Sports.
Type of aid: Direct grants with a maximum amount corresponding to 80% of the project subject to the grant.
Beneficiaries: Intellectual property rights management entities.
Deadline for submitting applications: Until 05/11/2021.
