SME II It is a non-refundable grant that aims to cover the costs of R+D+i activities, with a special interest in those that focus on demonstration activities and commercial applications, encouraging the involvement of potential users and customers.
Type of funding
The intensity of this funding is up to 70% of the eligible costs and the amount of this funding ranges from 500,000 to 2.5 million euros, with the possibility that the funding will be greater if duly justified. In addition, it does not require any guarantees, but in order to benefit, the applicant company must be a startup or SME with a corporate form. As far as expenses are concerned, those related to the implementation of the project, such as personnel costs, travel, equipment, infrastructure, goods and services, may be bankable.
Project conditions
- The startup or SME can present itself alone or as part of a consortium.
- The project must have a maximum duration of 2 years. A longer duration is possible if duly justified.
Requirements to comply with the consortium
- There are no minimum consortium requirements. The startup is free to choose the consortium based on their needs.
- SMEs can be chosen for the consortium from any EU country plus those participating in the program H2020.
- If the participation of an entity other than an SME or startup, such as a large company, university or research center, is necessary; it must participate as a subcontracted company. In addition, outsourcing costs cannot exceed 50% of the project budget.
