Experience what it feels like to be an entrepreneur, from selecting a good business idea to negotiating a funding round as if it were a real experience. Based on a simulation process that uses cases, documents and tools extracted from reality, you will be able to experience a hyper-realistic experience first-hand, and develop the knowledge and best practices to undertake successfully.
On March 3rd, we completed the first edition of the Startup Fundraising Program. Now we are launching the second edition with a stronger commitment to the “Learning by Doing” methodology and with a change of name that better reflects the type of situations you are going to experience.
We present to you Startup Founder's Experience.
What aspiring pilot would be so reckless as to get on a plane and fly out after a few theoretical classes? Airplane pilots learn to fly and train in flight simulators.
Why not apply the same concept to learning how to start a business?
Experience, as if you were living there, the real situations to which an entrepreneur is usually subjected, following the common thread of a startup designed based on data extracted from reality.
Una intense experience in which key concepts and tools are exposed, practiced and internalized as needed to solve the specific problems that arise in different situations, just as it happens in real life, but without the risks involved in doing so in real life. Are you ready?
- Analyze your objectives, evaluate several ideas and select the most appropriate one to undertake.
- Present your idea to several incubators or accelerators, receive, evaluate and negotiate acceleration proposals.
- Familiarize yourself with a professional financial model, create scenarios and defend them against your accelerator's mentors.
- Value your startup using the different methods with which startups are valued in real life.
- Negotiate a Seed round and your first “entrepreneur-friendly” Partner Pact with professional Business Angels.
- Design the optimal capital structure for your startup and talk to a specialist to get public funding.
- Prepare a good Pitch Deck and defend your startup against you.
- Receive several Term Sheets and negotiate a pre-Series A round with VCs.
Methodology
The proposed methodology is called Experiential Learning, and is based on the innate processes that human beings follow to learn to “do things”. By engaging in practical experiences, and experiencing a break in expectations because we don't know enough to do something well, and we receive feedback at the right time, knowledge is stored in a place in memory where it is “re-usable”, that is, we learn in a real and lasting way.
Program Features:
- 100% online mode. From the comfort of your home or office. You will have theoretical video sessions and live practical sessions.
- Duration of 8 sessions in 10 weeks, starting on Thursday, May 19.
- It is an intensive experience that involves about 6 hours of dedication per week between concept review, teamwork and feedback.
- The session of Feedback in real-time, it lasts approximately 1.5-2 hours.
- The language of experience is in Spaniard, although some key documents such as the Term-Sheet, Investment Agreement and the Shareholders Agreement are documents that are worked in English, as in reality.
- Personalization. We offer the option of intensifying the experience with personalized mentoring.
What is the content of the experience?
Through 8 intensive sessions led by Patrick Hunt, together with the Intelectium team, you will be able to experience first-hand a simulation experience applied to the creation and launch of technological startups.
The agenda for each session combines an explanation of basic concepts, teamwork in a context of real practice, and feedback meetings. The sessions are as follows:
- Session 1. What are the 4 key questions before starting a business
- Session 2. How to get the most out of the entrepreneurial and investment ecosystem
- Session 3. How to Develop a Professional Financial Model
- Session 4. How to justify the valuation of a startup at different stages
- Session 5. How to negotiate an “Entrepreneur-friendly” Partner Agreement with professional Business Angels
