Enisa Digital Entrepreneurs 2024: Funding for women-led startups and SMEs

The Enisa Digital Entrepreneurs line offers funding to promote women-led business projects.

Enisa is a public instrument, attached to the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism; dedicated to supporting and promoting innovative business projects. It offers financing for entrepreneurs, through participatory loans. In today's article, we will focus on one of its 5 lines of funding, specifically: Enisa Digital Entrepreneurs.

What is Enisa Emprenedoras Digitales?

Enisa Digital Entrepreneurs is a funding line with the objective of supporting and promoting women's digital entrepreneurship projects and reducing the gender gap. This support is independent of the phase in which the company is in (growth, consolidation or internationalization) and the sector they are framing.

It offers participatory loans of between 25,000 and 1.5M euros to promote technological and innovative business projects led by women. The budget for the period between 2021-2023 amounts to 51 million euros. In 2021, the first part of the budget was channeled; the first 17 million euros were allocated, and 55 operations were finally approved for 9.5 million euros. The rest of the budget for the Enisa Digital Entrepreneurs line will be allocated to 2022 and 2023. This line is very similar to those of Enisa for Technology-Based Companies (EBT), with the added component that projects have women in leadership positions.

Beneficiaries of the aid

Participatory loans will be able to obtain business projects led by one or more women. As we have mentioned before, the phase in which the company is in is independent.

Projects in which at least one woman holds a position of leadership or power within society, whether in the shareholding, in the management body or as part of the management team, are considered to be eligible to be beneficiaries.

Deadline for submitting applications

Although the line is open continuously 365 days a year, it is recommended to submit the application at the beginning of the year, since the commission evaluates projects based on the order of arrival.

Unlike the other Enisa lines: Enisa Young Entrepreneurs, Enisa Entrepreneurs and Enisa Growth, the Enisa Digital Entrepreneurs line, does not depend on the state's general budgets, so companies that are going along this line are having faster application and analysis deadlines than in other lines.
