With the mission of creating a sustainable and safe ecosystem, Recomotor has developed exclusive software for the commercialization of second-hand parts and engines.
Remotor, established in March 2021, was born as a company that buys and sells second-hand parts for vehicles with a strong B2C approach. The team immediately detected the need to pivot to a B2B business model, since it was the workshops and dealers who really needed to obtain this type of parts. Currently, Recomotor acts as an intermediary between scrapyards and workshops and dealers, offering the market exclusive software that allows the process of connecting these actors to be automated and digitized.
What is the process?
For workshops and dealers, the process is very simple: they only have to access a chatbot integrated into the Recomotor platform itself and specify their needs (reference number, type of part, etc.). The system itself, developed by Recomotor, is responsible for assigning the customer one of the specialist spare parts dealers to be responsible for checking that the operation works properly. Then, and in less than 15 minutes, the customer receives a quote for the part sought, with information about it. This process is carried out thanks to the database of suppliers that the Recomotor team has, which makes it possible to find the part in the linked scrapyards (classified by scoring) and assign a price to it. As soon as the customer accepts the quote and makes the payment, the required part is automatically ordered from the scrapyard supplier so that, later, a logistics company can pick up and send the part to the customer workshop within 24 to 48 hours.
Recomotor Team
The Recomotor team is made up of more than 10 professionals with extensive experience in the world of entrepreneurship and motor vehicles, led by:
- Jan Amat (CEO and Co-Founder): Graduated in Business Administration and Management from Pompeu Fabra University, he has a master's degree in Finance from the University of Barcelona. In addition to having extensive experience in the world of entrepreneurship, being the CEO and Co-Founder of Traspacar, the first online agency focused on vehicles in Spain, Jan has worked in several multinationals such as Bosch or Mapfre.
- Gerard Palau (Coo and Co-Founder): He began at the age of 18 with his professional career as a racing mechanic for 4 years, until he reached the motorcycle world championship. Gerard has training in Automotive and Business Administration and Management, as well as knowledge and experience in the fields of technology, acquired during the period when he founded his first digital company called Alcomotor24, with the objective of selling spare parts over the internet.
In addition, the team has a wide network of advisors such as Othman Ktiri (CEO and Founder of OK Mobility) or Carlos Rivera (Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Clicars), among others.
What makes them special?
Recomotor has the largest European scrapyard network (+1200), which allows them to recover car parts in good condition and then supply them to all the dealers, rentings and workshops that need them. In addition, Recomotor's technology and work make it possible to extend the life of certain scrapped car materials, thus avoiding their obsolescence and extending the life cycle of used cars, promoting the circular economy and promoting care for the environment. Along the same lines, the Recomotor project helps to reduce the overproduction of parts for cars, by making it possible to take advantage of those parts that are still useful. On the other hand, Recomotor ensures the highest quality in all the parts it sells. All of them are tested by professional mechanics and are guaranteed. In this regard, Recomotor classifies scrapping suppliers according to a scoring evaluation, giving a higher score to those with better certification, warranty and reduced delivery times, allowing them to have a incidence rate of less than 5%.
Roadmap
Despite the fact that in the existing market several companies dedicated to the sale of spare parts over the Internet, there is still no sufficiently developed technological solution that integrates cutting-edge technologies, which allows predictions of the market situation to connect European supply and demand in the most efficient way. Existing solutions are developed using very unadvanced technologies that provide little value to transaction efficiency and that do not take advantage of all the information available on the market. To solve this situation, Recomotor's intention is to accompany the constitution of a macro-warehouse with the development of a large database that allows the collection of key information from integrated scrapyards and suppliers, that of large parts recovery platforms, that coming from the rotation of its own macro-warehouse, and that from its own customers (CRM).
