Startup of the Week: Happyforce

Happyforce helps companies measure the mood of their employees. The company ensures that happy workers generate greater productivity.

Happyforce was founded in 2015 and since then the startup has not stopped growing, and it is no wonder, Happyforce helps companies measure the mood of their workers. The company ensures that happy workers generate greater productivity, and therefore, greater profit. Sergio Cancelo, Daniel Castro and Alex Ríos are the founding partners of Happyforce, they noticed difficulties in communicating with employees and decided to seek a solution.

“Happiness in the workplace isn't a pretty term, it's something tangible that affects productivity, and to achieve it, you have to relearn how to communicate,” explains Alex Ríos.

Happyforce It has an anonymous app, workers can comment on mood through the use of “like”, “dislike” buttons, emojis and spaces for commenting. In this way Happyforce knows at all times what its employees think and what aspects should be improved, promoting a culture of feedback. Lean startup is the methodology followed by its founders, based on the design of a business model based on fundamental questions or hypotheses.

“Since we launched our service, we have observed a trend according to which the more communication from managers, the higher the employee happiness index and the more positive and constructive the feedback from employees,” he explains Álex Ríos, founder and CEO of Happyforce, “while in the opposite direction, less communication by managers means a reduction in the happiness index of their employees and messages tend to be more focused on complaints and protests”
