Grants for projects in the video game, podcast and other forms of digital creation of up to 80,000€

The call, framed in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, which has a total budget of 5M€ for the promotion of the video game sector, podcast and other forms of digital creation, aims to support the ecosystem of that sector, both for the pre-production, production and distribution of video games, podcasts and other forms of digital creation, as well as for incubation, mentoring or acceleration programs, as well as for professional events and cultural exhibitions related to the sector.

Beneficiaries of the aid

Self-employed and micro-enterprises and SMEs with a profit motive and tax residence in Spain. In any case, all projects must have a cultural character and/or interest.

Activities covered by the aid

  • The pre-production, production and post-production of video games.
  • The pre-production, production and post-production of fictional podcasts or educational podcasts whose content relates to cultural disciplines.
  • The pre-production, production and post-production of cultural products that use extended reality technologies or other digital creation formats.
  • The organization of professional events, business incubation and acceleration programs and cultural exhibitions, provided that they are directly related to the activities set out in the previous sections.

The activities must take place between January 1 and December 31, 2025, without the possibility of extension.

Type of help

Grants of up to 80,000€, on a competitive basis. The maximum intensity will vary depending on the amount requested, with a maximum of 80% of the project.

Eligible expenses

  • Expenses of permanent or temporary labor dependent on the beneficiary entities, as long as they are expenses directly related to the organization and development of the subsidized activity.
  • The expenses corresponding to the contracting of technical services to carry out the subsidized activity, including research expenses.
  • The purchase or lease of the machinery or equipment necessary for the development of the subsidized activity.
  • Rental of premises necessary for the development of the subsidized activity (the rental of the beneficiary's headquarters is excluded).
  • Industrial and intellectual property expenses.

Criteria for evaluating applications

  • Adaptation of the planned activity to the achievement of the purposes set out in article 1 of this resolution (up to 40 points).
  • Project planning and economic approach (up to 40 points).
  • Cultural interest and quality of the project (up to 20 points).

Projects that obtain 60 or more points will be assigned as a provisional amount the full amount of the aid they have requested.
