Currently, for every 10 Spanish men who undertake 9 women So do they, adding up to a figure that exceeds the European average, where there are 6 women for every 10 male entrepreneurs. According to data from the GEM World Report 2018/19 (Global Entrepreneurship Monitor) the Female Entrepreneurial Activity Rate in Spain it has increased for the sixth consecutive year from 5.6% to 6%.In this regard, general entrepreneurial activity in Spain also continues to increase, growing from 5.2% in 2016 to 6.4% today, achieving figures that are increasingly similar to those recorded before the crisis, when they stood at 7.6% (2007) .On the other hand, if we look at the established business rate, those that have been in the market for more than 3.5 years, we find Spain (6%) below the average of European and North American countries (7.4%). As a novelty, GEM has introduced a Entrepreneurship Context Index, which evaluates, in addition to the data set out above, the environmental conditions for entrepreneurship in an economy. These conditions are assessed on: government policies, bureaucracy and taxation, infrastructure, entrepreneurship education and R&D transfer. Of the 54 economies that provided sufficient data for this new indicator, Spain is ranked 16th, ahead of economies such as Germany (19), Japan (20) and the United Kingdom (30).Experts gave Spain a positive assessment of existing government initiatives to boost entrepreneurship and also because of the country's infrastructure, but they have found insufficient entrepreneurship education both at the earliest (school) and university stages. Excessive red tape and tax burdens have also affected the external assessment of the conditions of the entrepreneurial environment.
